“Play encompasses children’s behaviour which is freely chosen, personally directed and intrinsically motivated. It is performed for no external goal or reward, and is a fundamental and integral part of healthy development – not only for individual children, but also for the society in which they live.” (Welsh Government Play Policy, 2002)
Play Wales is an independent charity funded by the Welsh Government and work to raise awareness of children and young people’s need and right to play. They provide advice and guidance to support all those who have an interest in, or responsibility for providing for children’s play.
PLAY is a vibrant, lively and exciting short film produced by Play Wales to celebrate children's play – it can be shared with colleagues and friends to advocate for children's right to play.
