New walking app to combat inactivity in middle age
Public Health England has recently released a new Active 10 app to encourage adults to walk briskly for at least 10 minutes per day, to gain health benefits and work towards achieving the physical activity recommendations.
The app combines walking intensity and time, rather than just distance or steps and is the first of its kind. It helps people gradually introduce more activity into their daily routine, with goal setting advice and motivational tips.
