The Strengthening Leadership Series – Episode 4

Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programmes - an important local resource

This film explores the role of Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programmes [DVPP’s] and how they can assist in the work to end violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Support services for victims and children who are affected by domestic abuse are vital. However, unless services engage directly with perpetrators, domestic abuse will not stop.

DVPP’s are community based group work programmes which work directly with perpetrators of domestic abuse with the aim of changing their behaviour and stopping further abuse and violence.

Very recently published research has examined the outcome of men’s participation in accredited perpetrator programmes and this film provides some of the headlines from this research alongside additional considerations for local strategic leaders and commissioners.

The Welsh Government would welcome feedback on the film. Please email: [email protected]
