Lifestyle

Lifestyle refers to people’s behaviour patterns. Cultural values and beliefs shape these behaviours, which are influenced by personal socio-economic circumstances.

Harmful behaviours, for example heavy drinking, can be met with approval within some groups or circumstances, making behaviour change very challenging. Eating a healthy diet may be influenced by availability, cost and time involved. The degree of choice over lifestyle behaviours, however, is the subject of much debate.
